Today, I am pleased to share LinkedIn.com is now available in in three new local languages – Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Malaysia and Korean. As a truly global professional network we continue to grow and deepen our footprint in the Asia Pacific region, by being more local and relevant to professionals in each of these different countries.

There are now more than 20 million members in Asia Pacific and Japan who have already established their professional identities and are building their networks and gaining access to insights and opportunities on LinkedIn.  We believe that this member base will continue to grow strongly. In addition to the launch of Bahasa Malaysia, Bahasa Indonesia and Korean today, we’ve also recently launched LinkedIn in Japanese and opened offices in Singapore and Japan earlier this year.

Buddy Can You Spare a Dime to Help My Friends?

Horses are like puppies and kittens – there aren’t enough homes for them all

Some of my collaborators already know about all the emergencies and drama last month and my regular readers may have noticed I mention horses once in a while.

Today I am going to do something I have never done before – ask for your help.

Truth truly is stranger than fiction and if I wrote a novel about what happened to my closest friend in the offline world last month it would not be believable enough to get published.

Here’s the short version. My friend who works full time as a nurse in a hospital and does home health care too is part of an official non-profit pet rescue, but also rescues horses on her own because she can’t bear to see pregnant mares and foals end up at killer plants.

She can’t save them all, but she saves some of them – and during a drought when hay prices are 4 times normal and hay is hard to find – is not the best time to be supporting a lot of horses.

Western Union looking for Africa’s most connected

To celebrate this unique status, Western Union is calling for Africas most globally connected individuals to step forward and take the Western Union Network Challenge at

The search will be fuelled by a new interactive, online Application called Your World which Western Union has created to mark its birthday. It visualises Facebook fans global connections and users receive a score that shows how globally connected they are. They can compare their ranking against their Facebook Friends; against others in their country and against others in the world.
